Dabbang 2

Dabbang 2, a sequel to Dabbang, Salman Khan starer hit..!!

The movie runs on the same plot, with almost same set of actors, but is still successful in receiving the necessary accolade and appraisal.. Salman Khan's comic presence and timing are the USP for the movie.. The ardent fans of Chulbul Pandey have accepted the sequel with open arms.. A song titled "Fevicol" was choreographed as a dance number and considered as an equivalent to "Munni Badnaam Hui" from Dabangg...

While comparisons between the two are obvious, but some people find it better than the first one.. They are of the view that with salman Khan and Sonakshi, and the dash of kareens's glamour in fevicol se, this movie is an out and out entertaining movie..

Those of you who think that you have not seen Dabbang 1, so you wont be able to relate to it.. Then I must say, such a thinking is wrong.. I had not seen Dabbang 1, but I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, as for me everything was new, new jokes, new comic role and obviously, new music !!!

Dabangg 2 received mixed to negative reviews from critics in India. Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave the film 4 out of 5 stars and said "Dabangg 2 has Salman Khan, Salman Khan and Salman Khan plus entertainment, entertainment and entertainment in large doses.. Where as, it received negative reviews from critics overseas. IGN gave the film 4.5 out of 10 stars and criticized the weak script and direction..

But, all in all, I would say that if you are in need of some laughter dose and entertainment, this is a perfect movie to watch !!!

Jab Tak Hai Jaan

A Yash Chopra Romance.. that is how the movie was promoted.. Regrettably, JAB TAK HAI JAAN happens to be the last film of one of the greatest raconteurs of our times...
So, people naturally had very high expectations from the movie.. Coz after a long time, something like this was coming up..

The movie lived upto Yash Chopra's direction, beautiful locations, and so much more... JAB TAK HAI JAAN encompasses everything that one has come to expect from a Yash Chopra movie. This time, it's a brand new setting, but the journey remains the same as his previous love stories -- just as the lead man and his lady love sprint towards each other from opposite directions, to cuddle each other lovingly, you're told that the romantic pathway is crammed with thorns and spikes.. This film has all the elements you would want in a Yash Chopra film - gorgeously shot locations in the UK and Kashmir, lavish songs and three inherently noble lead characters who struggle gallantly against their individual obligations..

For the hardcore romantics, this one was a treat. But those who *don't* swear by love stories, I am certain, will be able to connect with this film, since the twists and twirls in the screenplay are sure to allure those yearning for something captivatingly distinctive.. But at the same time, Jab Tak Hai Jaan does not have is a coherent plot. Through a series of unconvincing story twists, the waiter becomes a major in the army - a bomb-disposal expert, no less..!!

Though the focus of Jab Tak Hai Jaan is on the male protagonist, the two women in his life aren’t mere mannequins. They are full-on Yash Chopra heroines, blessed with both grace and intelligence, besides the ability to speak their minds and hold on to their beliefs...

Personally, I loved the music of the movie.. The poem narrated by SRK, which is the title of the movie.. and the 'HEER' song, are my personal favorites.. But, certainly, the music is which everyone can enjoy and relate to..

Various websites have opined that the film might have drawn inspiration from the Graham Greene novel The End Of the Affair. Box Office India declared the film a "hit" in India and a "blockbuster" overseas. However, Yash Raj Films and independent trade analysts called the film a "worldwide blockbuster."..

OMG: Oh My God!

As the name suggests, a movie challenging GOD !!! A very different subject indeed, actually transpired in 2008 in Nebraska in the United States, where, A Senator filed a lawsuit against God, seeking a ruling against "God's harmful activities". The grievance got instantly dismissed by the court because God could not be notified for the lack of a proper address...

It carries a social message, a significant one, but the best part is, it does so without losing the wit and humor. It takes some amount of guts on the part of the directors and producers Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, to point out certain religious beliefs that people hold on to.. It was a very very sensitive issue, but portrayed in a very convincing manner..

I, personally, felt thae movie to be very different and significant in every aspect.. Very different from normal comedy, romance and action.. A subject, everyone could relate to very easily.. Most importantly, it doesn't get preachy, nor does it deviate into the sermonizing mode. The film demonstrates Kanji as a nastik or a non-believer in God at the very outset, who, paradoxically, uses religion to run his business.

The movie was commercially successful as well as critically acclaimed..  Made on a budget of INR20 crore (US$3.64 million), the film received positive response from critics upon release. Box Office India declared the film aSuperhit after its three week run...

Sukanya Verma of Rediff rated it 4 out of 5 reviewing "A brave and absorbing blend of satire, fable and fantasy that brings our attention to the misuse and commercialisation of religion". Faisal Saif of Independent Bollywood rated it 4 out of 5 and said "Strongly Recommended. Fearless concept with some Fearless performances"....

The most favorable aspect about the movie was the strong and positive word of mouth from the viewers. The movie also faced nationwide criticism for the controversial concept it brought out...

Again, I would suggest, those of you who have not seen , MUST WATCH it !!!!!

Barfi !

Barfi !! This movie doesn't need any introduction.. The story, the actors, the dialogues, the screenplay, direction, everything is enough to define the success behind this movie. the movie made with a budget of Rs.30 crores, hit the box office on 14 Sept 2012 and  declared super hit within 3 weeks of is release.. sources say that it did a business of more than 100 crores during its tenure on Cinema.. The film is sent as india's official entry for Best Foreign Language Film nomination for the 85th Academy Awards in  February 2013..

In my personal opinion, after a long time, something commendable like this was made and released.. Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra's acting is rightful of appreciation beyond words.. The duo along with the strong presence of Illeana D'Cruz, made a mark on the Indian Cinema..

It is a romantic comedy film written and directed by Anurag Basu.. The film was praised for showing a positive portrayal of people who are differently abled.. Anurag Basu builds the characters so finely that you come to love each and every one of them by the end of the movie.. The disabilities of the characters did not make the audience feel pity for them, rather  it left audience with a warm and cuddly feeling for the couple - Barfi and Jhilmil (Ranbir & Priyanka) and a sad feeling for Shruti (Illeana D'Cruz)...

Talking about the music of the movie, the background score was amazing and got along well with the empathy of the movie.. And the songs too were well knitted into the story of the movie, making it a perfect blend for the audience..

The final verdict - All those who have not seen this movie, Go, Buy a DVD and watch it NOW !!! And those who have seen it, watch it again to enjoy the magical feeling of Barfi! all over again..
